Husband Wants to Try Chastity: What to Know

If your husband says he wants to try chastity, you do not need to decide immediately or take on a keyholder role. Ask what he means by the idea: fantasy, a one-time experiment, a shared routine, or something else. Your comfort and consent matter as much as his interest.

Clarify the request

Discuss what he hopes it will add, whether the proposal involves a device, and what he expects from you. Ask what would happen if either of you wanted to stop. Avoid assuming that a spouse must hold the key or agree to a contract. A mutual no is a complete answer.

If you both want a trial

Start with a brief, removable test and a device selected from actual measurements, not an extreme duration or smallest-looking cage. Decide how the wearer can remove it promptly, when to clean it, and how you will check in. Pain, numbness, swelling, discoloration, or urinary difficulty mean remove it, regardless of the shared plan.

Use conversation prompts for the first discussion and setting shared rules only if a written outline would help. A product purchase can wait until expectations are clear.
